Water Your Mind

The 2010 Summer Reading Program, "Water Your Mind," will be starting July 19 and run for 6 weeks until the end of August. Registration for the program will begin Tuesday, July 6 and will continue through the duration of the program. Participants, ages 14 to adult, may sign up at the Patron Services desk for this primarily self-directed program or call the library at 386-3712. Patrons who register will read as many “novel-length” fiction and/or nonfiction books as they can, turn in slips for each book read and be eligible to win weekly prizes generously donated by local businesses. Readers may choose from a list of selected titles featuring the word “water” in the titles. Other titles may be read also.

There will also be themed events including an Open House on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 from 6:30 pm -7:30 pm. Please join friends and neighbors for refreshments and pick up a Program Welcome packet. Readers are encouraged to come, but are not obligated. If unable to attend, they may request their packets at the Patron Services desk upon registration. A Garden Tour is also planned and will feature the basics of water gardening hosted by Anneke Larrence. A spa event where participants may soak away their summer stresses with a eucalyptus footbath and warming paraffin hand dip is also scheduled.
